Azerbaijan is a transcontinental and landlocked country situated at the boundary of Western Asia and Eastern Europe. It forms part of the South Caucasus region and is bordered by the Caspian Sea to the east, Dagestan to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia and Turkey to the west, and Iran to the south. The nation offers a unique blend of deep-rooted traditions and rapid modern development. 

Azerbaijan has developed a strong industrial and agricultural economy, with major sectors including petroleum, natural gas, electrical equipment, appliances, instruments, cotton, woolen textiles, knitwear, footwear, and traditional souvenirs. Nearly half of its total land area is suitable for agriculture, with grains and cotton among its most valuable crops. Historically, it played a significant role in global energy production. 

Itinerary

Azerbaijan day 1

  • Meet your Malayalee tour manager from Santamonica at the Cochin International Airport.
  • Begin check-in formalities, and once done, board your flight to Abu Dhabi.
  • Arrive in Abu Dhabi, and take the connecting flight to Baku. Arrive in Azerbaijan.
  • Complete the immigration formalities, meet the local tour manager and transfer to the hotel.
  • After lunch, we begin the panoramic city tour of Azerbaijan, visiting
  • Upland Park, a hilltop park with a war memorial, a fountain & viewing deck overlooking the Baku waterfront.
  • Flame Towers Located on a hill overlooking the Caspian Sea and Baku’s old city centre, this trio of iconic buildings has transformed the skyline of Azerbaijan’s capital. (Photo Stop)
  • Nizami Street, a large pedestrian and shopping street in downtown Baku, Azerbaijan, is named after the classical Persian poet Nizami Ganjavi.
  • Fountain Square, a lively public square located in the heart of Baku, is known for its beautiful fountains, lush greenery, and bustling atmosphere. The square serves as a social and cultural hub for both locals and tourists.
  • After the tour, transfer back to the hotel. Overnight stay in Baku.

Azerbaijan day 2

  • Begin your day with an early breakfast at the hotel. Today, we go for a tour of the Absheron peninsula, it is famous for mud volcanoes, which are formed when natural gas pushes mud to the surface.
  • We visit Ateshgah, the Fire Temple of Baku, and a castle-like temple in Surakhany town.
  • Next, we see the Burning Mountains of Azerbaijan, Yanar Dag, and a natural gas fire which blazes continuously on a hillside on the Absheron peninsula.
  • Then we proceed to the tour of Gobustan. You can find over 6000 ancient rock petroglyphs and mud volcanoes here since the 8th millennium BC.
  • Next, we visit the Gobustan Mud Volcanoes. Azerbaijan has the largest collection of mud volcanoes in the world. 
  • Gobustan Petroglyphs, a UNESCO World Heritage site, has around 6000 ancient rock engravings on more than 1000 rock surfaces spread over 100 sq km.
  • Then off to visit the Gobustan Museum, which also contains a vast collection of rock engravings and other collectables that were used by the inhabited people from the 38th millennium BC
  • Later, have dinner and then transfer back to the hotel. Overnight stay in Baku

Azerbaijan day 3

  • Have your early morning breakfast at the hotel
  • Then we begin our road trip to Gabala (Also known as Qabala). Archaeological evidence proves that Gabala was once the ancient capital of Caucasian Albania in the 4th century BC. You can see the ancient ruins of the city even to this day.
  • First, we stop at Nohur Lake, a serene mountain lake surrounded by forests and a scenic view of the Caucasus, leaving you feeling refreshed. Take a stroll around the lake, enjoy the view and breathe in some fresh air away from the bustling cities.
  • Next stop is Tufandag Resort Cable car, a major attraction featuring one of the longest gondola routes in the Caucasus. At an altitude of nearly 2000 meters above sea level, it offers an amazing panoramic view of the Great Caucasus Mountains, forests and valleys.
  • You can also enjoy some free time in Tufandag, just to relax and take in the whole scenery.
  • Later, have dinner and transfer back to the hotel. Overnight Stay in Gabala

Azerbaijan day 4

  • Have an early morning breakfast at the hotel. Today we are going to Baku, the capital city of

Azerbaijan.

  • And we begin with an Old Baku Walking Tour exploring Icherisheher (the Inner city), a UNESCO World Heritage site well known for 12th-century walls, narrow lanes, cobblestone paths, etc.
  • You can see Maiden Tower (Qiz Qalasi), Palace of the Shrivanshahs, Juma Mosque,

Caravanserais, museum, etc.

  • And then to the Boulevard Walking Tour, where you can take a stroll along the Caspian Sea, enjoying the lush greenery, scenic view and other attractions.
  • After the tour, have dinner and transfer back to the hotel

  • Overnight stay in Baku

Azerbaijan day 5

  • Breakfast at Hotel, Check out.
  • We are visitng the iconic Heydar Aliyev Center, a masterpiece of modern architecture designed by Zaha Hadid.
  • Later you will head to the airport for your return journey to İndıa.
  • Meals: Breakfast | Lunch | Inflight
