Day by Day Itinerary

- Board your flight to Guwahati Airport. Upon arrival transfer to Tezpur.
- On arrival check in to the hotel. Evening Leisure time.

- Start your day with an early breakfast before checking out and beginning your scenic drive toward Dirang.
- Your first stop is the Tipi Orchidarium, a premier research center nestled on the banks of the Jia Bharali River. As home to over 500 orchid species, it showcases the incredible biodiversity of Arunachal Pradesh, which boasts the largest range of orchids in India. Take a moment to explore the rare species on display in the glasshouse before continuing your journey.
- Carry on the journey to Dirang
- Pause for a peaceful break and visit this revered local shrine of Nag Temple. Keep your camera ready as the winding roads offer spectacular views of towering waterfalls and lush Himalayan landscapes.
- Upon arriving in Dirang and checking into your hotel, spend the afternoon exploring the town’s unique cultural and natural landmarks. Visit the local Apple Orchards and Kiwi Farms (seasonal) to see the region’s famous produce, then immerse yourself in the spiritual atmosphere of the Dirang Monastery and the historic Kalachakra Monastery.
- Before heading back, you can visit the local hot water springs, which are celebrated for their medicinal properties and ability to cure skin ailments.

Note: Every Indian tourist visiting Arunachal Pradesh has to obtain ILP (Inner Line Permit) at Bhalukpong border before entering the state against submission of photo identity card and two copies of passport size photographs. It is issued by the Secretary (Political) of the Government of Arunachal Pradesh. It is required for accessing the state through any check gates along the interstate borders with Assam or Nagaland. This permit is essential for all travelers entering Arunachal Pradesh.

- After an early breakfast, begin your journey to Tawang, often called the “Land of Hidden Paradise.” Your drive takes you through the high-altitude Sela Pass ($13,700$ ft), the dramatic boundary between the West Kameng and Tawang districts. Here, you can admire the serene Sela Lake, a high-altitude body of water that remains frozen for a large part of the year, offering a stunning crystalline landscape.
- About 10 km past the pass, you will reach Jaswant Garh War Memorial to pay your respects at this memorial dedicated to Jaswant Singh Rawat. He is celebrated for his incredible bravery in single-handedly holding off advancing troops during the 1962 Indo-Chinese war.
- Afterwards proceed to experience the power of these majestic Nuranang Falls also known as Jang Falls. This spot gained cinematic fame as the filming location for the SRK and Madhuri Dixit movie “Koyla.”

- After a refreshing breakfast, spend your morning exploring the spiritual and historical heart of Tawang.
- Begin at the Tawang Monastery (Galden Namgyal Lhatse), a 17th-century masterpiece perched at 10,000ft. As the largest monastery in India and the second oldest in Asia, this massive complex houses over 65 buildings and 500 Lamas. Inside, you’ll find ancient scriptures written in gold and a magnificent 8-meter-high gilded Buddha statue.
- Next visit the peaceful birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama, Urgeling Gompa. The only Indian-born Dalai Lama. This sacred site is filled with historic stupas and remains a vital pilgrimage spot, especially during the Buddhist New Year.
- Continue with the sightseeing stopping at Tawang War Memorial to pay tribute to the heroes of the 1962 Sino-Indian War at this 40-foot-high stupa, known locally as Namgyal Chortan. The names of 2,420 martyrs are etched in gold across black granite plaques.
- End your sightseeing with a visit to the local craft center. It is the perfect place to find authentic hand-woven carpets, traditional masks, silver jewelry, and the local dress known as ‘chubas’.

- After an early breakfast, set out for a thrilling day exploring the high-altitude wonders near the China border. Your first stop is Shonga-tser Lake, famously known as Madhuri Lake, located 35 km from Tawang. Formed during the 1950 earthquake, the lake is known for the hauntingly beautiful dead tree trunks that still emerge from its waters. The drive itself is a journey through history, passing 1962 war bunkers and pristine mountain scenery. At the lake, you can trek along the shore or enjoy a warm bowl of Maggi and momos at the Army-run cafeteria.
- Travel further to the Indo-China border at 15,200 ft, to witness the Bumla Pass: a significant military and scenic landmark. This excursion offers an adventurous drive to the high-altitude Shonga-tser Lake, also known as Madhuri Lake, located 35 km from Tawang near the China border. The journey is filled with historical significance, as you’ll pass war bunkers from the 1962 Chinese aggression. Formed after the 1950 earthquake, the lake lies amidst pristine mountains, with remnants of its past as a cattle grazing ground evident in the tree trunks emerging from the water. Managed by the Army, the site features a cafeteria where visitors can enjoy Momos, Maggi, and hot beverages. You can also trek around the lake, soaking in the serene atmosphere.
- Continue to Bumla Pass, 37 km from Tawang at 15,200 ft, and stop at the picturesque PTSO Lake on your return journey.
- On your return, stop at the breathtaking Pangong Tang Tso Lake or PT Tso Lake (17 km from Tawang) for a bird’s-eye view of the entire Tawang township.
- Arrive back at your hotel in the late afternoon to enjoy a relaxed evening at your leisure.

- After breakfast, begin your journey to Bomdila, the high-altitude headquarters of the West Kameng District. Perched at 8,200 ft, this town is beloved for its cool mountain climate and stunning panoramic views of the snow-clad Himalayan ranges. After checking into your hotel, spend the afternoon exploring the town’s spiritual landmarks.
- Visit the Gontse Rabgyaling Monastery (Upper Gonpa) and the Thub-Chog Gatsel Ling Monastery (Lower Gonpa) to experience the vibrant Buddhist culture and quiet devotion of the region.
- Spend your evening wandering through the local market, a great place to observe daily life and pick up unique local crafts.

- After an early breakfast, check out and begin the 270 km drive, which takes approximately 8 hours as you descend from the winding Himalayan roads into the plains of the Brahmaputra valley. You will travel from the mountain heights of Bomdila back to the gateway city of Guwahati.
- Upon arrival in Guwahati, check into your hotel and enjoy a relaxed final evening at your leisure. You may choose to spend your last night exploring the local markets.

- After your final breakfast of the tour, check out from your hotel to spend your last morning soaking in the spiritual energy of Guwahati. This concluding day offers a peaceful, meditative end to your journey before you head for home.
- Your primary stop is this legendary Shakti Peeth,Kamakhya Temple. It’s best to arrive early (the temple opens at 8:00 AM) to experience the powerful atmosphere of one of India’s most revered pilgrimage sites.
- Next we continue to see The Sacred Circui, the Sukreswar Temple, which houses the 6th Jyotirlinga of Shiva, followed by the Nabagraha Temple (the Temple of the Nine Planets) and the serene Tirupati Balaji Temple with its stunning white architecture.
- After your temple visits, you will be transferred to the Guwahati Airport or Railway Station for your journey onward.
- As you head for your flight , you’ll carry with you the memories of the high Himalayan passes, the quiet monasteries of Tawang, and the vibrant culture of the Northeast. Safe travels home!
